The parents of the children who were poisoned with salmonella at kindergarten no. 1 in Gramsh have protested in front of the municipality today, demanding an investigation into the incident. They expressed concern for the safety of their children to the media, while accusing the authorities of trying to keep the incident a secret.
One of the parents, in a statement to the media, called on the prosecution to get to the bottom of the incident.
"You have poisoned our children. Give us answers, I call on the Prosecution. Prosecutor Kreshnik Ajazi to follow this case. Take this incident to the end. People have been intimidated for 10 days. The whole of Gramsh should have come out here, because tomorrow it could be their children. It is not a political issue but a civic one. In any case, and for something small, if we go to the Gramsh hospital, the police automatically come. The evidence was taken on Saturday by the AKU," declared a parent.
Another said she was prevented from taking her child to the hospital due to fears it could spread.
"Unofficial sources say it's from food. From the educators, the bride says she consumed chicken soup. I was forbidden, because it's a contagious disease, to take her to the ward because it could spread and I'm treating her at home," the parent added.
Another said he had to argue to get the answer that the child had been infected with salmonella.
"I have a child who tested positive. I received the result yesterday after some arguments from the kindergarten. They didn't give an answer, saying that the answer hasn't been released, and yesterday with that debate we had, I barely received it because they said it would be given officially. We haven't seen anything from their side and since it's a contagious disease, it should have been said that measures should be taken. Nothing official, they didn't even ask us how the child is. I received a medication by talking to a doctor. This doesn't depend on that, because if there was commitment from the state, you would go and get a prescription. We demand that the right to this be clarified. We don't even want to benefit from anything. This is an online tender that was given to a company outside our city, there are many genuine businesses here that can do this job better than him ," said the parent.
The poisoning of children at the state kindergarten in Gramsh is being investigated by the Elbasan prosecutor's office, while the IHP and the Food Safety Institute are conducting dozens of analyses. The company 'Nelsa SHPK', which supplies food to the kindergarten but also to many other institutions such as hospitals in several cities, is also under investigation.
