Mirlinda Karçanaj, former Director of the National Anti-Corruption Agency, appeared today at SPAK in compliance with the security measure imposed on her, following the investigations that the Special Prosecution Office has launched regarding this institution.
Karçanaj's stay at SPAK lasted a few minutes, which means that the former official has thus fulfilled the obligation set by the security measure.
The former Director of AKSHI has avoided comments to the media, while her legal defense attorney has said that Karçanaj will speak when she sees fit.
SPAK has launched investigations regarding the public procurements of the National Agency for Public Procurement, while the file is considered one of the most voluminous.
A few days ago, in a television interview, the former director of the National Agency for Public Procurement, Mirlinda Karçanaj, stated that she did not deal with the administrative process of the procurement process during the time she was leading this institution. She said that she had delegated this process to her former deputy, Daniel Shima, who was reported missing for several hours by his family, only to return home and tell the police that he left on his own.
Karçanaj emphasized that Shima was responsible for the entire administrative process of the procurement process and that he had delegated contracting authority to him.
"Daniel Shima was responsible for the entire administrative process of the procurement process. I was focused on completing the technological procedure to make AKSHI what it is today.
I personally have not dealt with this process, but I am committed to carefully following this process so that it is carried out within the rules.
At one point, I delegated contracting authority to Daniel Shima and during this period I had no communication regarding this procedure.
"I don't want to prejudge Daniel Shima regarding what is being said in the media, but I must say that the institutions must investigate seriously," she said.
