Endrit Bakiu and Fadion Çami, two of the persons against whom SPAK issued an arrest warrant today under the charge of a structured criminal group that distributed cannabis in the form of chocolate, were previously arrested in February 2021.
Bakiu, the leader of this group together with Fadion Çami, were caught with 77 packages of cannabis in the form of chocolate in the place called "Mbikalimi i Plepave" in Durrës.
Endrit Bakiu was caught while driving around in his 'Porsche' type car where he had hidden packages of marijuana. While Fadjon Çami was arrested the same evening in an 'Audi' type car after he turned out to be an accomplice of Baki.
The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has issued 21 arrest warrants for drug trafficking within the structured criminal group. It is learned that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the Italian authorities, the Florence prosecutor's office, in several cities such as Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Vlorë and Korçë.
Regarding the operation, it is expected that there will be a media conference around 1:30 PM in SPAK, where the details will be given regarding the identities of 14 of the people arrested so far, while the operation is still ongoing.
