More and more SPAK is confiscating real estate, identified as having been purchased with crime money. The most recent, headed by apartments bought in Tirana, for which the Special Court decided confiscation belonged to the citizen Vito Biba.
SPAK declares that nine of Biba's assets go to the state, after the investigation that proved that the suspect was sentenced in Italy to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking. All assets identified are apartments, land and service units in the capital.
Last week, assets worth over 20 million euros were requested to be blocked by SPAK against four citizens, two convicted in Belgium and another for drugs in Spain.
While the first two had bought apartments on the coast in the area of Golem and Orikum, the third, identified as Anton Gjini, entered the business by investing in construction companies and land purchases.
18 apartments, dozens of garages and the joint stock companies and passenger transport licenses of Paulin Marku, a former drug convict, who was killed in a double aerial attack in Laç, had the same fate.
SPAK's massive investigations have revealed that traffickers also prefer to invest in luxury vehicles and cryptocurrency.
SPAK informs TCH, through non-official sources, that for the past year, based on the anti-mafia law, data was requested for 554 people, convicted and investigated in the field of drugs, criminal groups and corruption.
Meanwhile, information has been requested from all prosecution offices for the property investigation to the general directorate of prevention of money laundering for 3471 citizens, all of whom are suspected of laundering money, including income from the call center field. But ordinary prosecutions continue to have negligible results in this area. / TCH
