The cyberattack on the Albanian Parliament has drawn a reaction from the United States. In a response to Report TV, the US State Department condemned the activity, calling it a malicious act against a NATO ally.
The State Department says it is aware of the attack and that the US is working with Albania to strengthen its cybersecurity. According to the response, Washington is actively helping the country cope with these threats.
" The United States is aware of and condemns malicious cyber activities against our NATO ally, Albania, " the response states.
The statement also emphasizes that as NATO allies, the US and Albania continuously coordinate on shared security concerns and remain vigilant to ensure the safety of American and Albanian citizens.
The reaction comes after the internal system of the Parliament was hit by a cyberattack. The hacker group "Homeland Justice" published data from the internal system of the parliament on Telegram, including emails and information of users of the domain parlament.al.
