New details have emerged regarding the assassination attempt that occurred yesterday in Rinas, where as a result of an assassination attempt, Glimando Dani was killed and Muçi Sheqeri was injured.
A witness who was present at the moment the mafia assassination took place spoke to "Euronews Albania".
"As I was passing by, I heard the shots. I was scared and saw the Kalashnikov being used. The vehicle stopped, one person was killed and the other was injured. For me it's like a movie, I'm shocked and terrified. The police took us away. They came quickly, but there was no police presence at that moment," the witness recounts.
Dani, Emiljano Shullazi's right-hand man, was executed in a mafia assassination attempt on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m., shortly after the victim and the injured man arrived from Barcelona, where they had left on November 7.
As they were heading towards Tirana in a Benz vehicle with license plate AB 099UO, the perpetrators in another car ambushed them and shot them with a hail of bullets.
Over 50 Kalashnikov rifle cartridges were found at the scene of the assassination, which were discharged with bursts from at least 3 weapons. About 40 minutes after the assassination, the police found the perpetrators' vehicle burned in the village of Halil in Fushë-Krujë and 4 weapons inside; 3 Kalashnikovs and 1 pistol that was suspected to have been used in Dani's execution.
