Journalist Artan Hoxha spoke about the attack that injured 4 people that occurred on Thursday in Tirana. Four people were injured in this attack, two of whom were minors who left for Italy for treatment.
Asked if the assassination in Tirana was related to the murder of Roan Brahimi's father, whose execution took place on the same day, Hoxha replied that he did not think so. According to him, the perpetrators had well-organized the attack and had thought in detail about how the assassination would take place.
He also said that since the perpetrators were traveling by motorcycle, they had the opportunity to identify their target, so according to the journalist, they would have verified whether or not Roan Brahimi's wife was in the car.
"First, it was said that the incident took place on the highway, but it did not happen on the highway. Secondly, it was said that the incident is related to the murder in Lezha. I do not see any connection with it. For me, the close time between the two assassinations that day was a coincidence. The Tirana incident does not appear to me to be related to the Lezha incident, because Roan Brahimi's wife lives in a nearby area in Lundër.
It is a protected area, where several businessmen and well-known personalities live, including characters from the criminal world, since they can afford to live in such a high-cost area. Roan Brahimi's wife lives in such a residence.
There are 100 ways if someone had planned to harm her and her children. I don't think this is relevant, as it would be much easier than this form. I know that she drives an Audi. I also don't know that she is protected, so she herself does not feel dangerous.
Why do I think they didn't mix it up? The perpetrators used a motorbike, this tool allows them to reconfirm their target. They followed the target, they got data about it, and with a motorbike you can get closer and see the target. Besides, the motorbike wasn't in pursuit, it was stopped.
The area where the car was chosen to be hit is one of the areas where there is no phone signal. It is one of the most remote pockets where there is no internet signal. This part of the new ring road has been out of service for several years and had the lights on, since it was put into operation there has been no lighting. So the perpetrators have found this area where cars usually slow down. So it seems that the perpetrators have studied it well, have spent time and financial resources to carry out the attack.
"What impresses me is the brutality of the perpetrators, they fired 56 rounds. Such massive strikes are carried out in cases where you think the people in the vehicle might react, or when you intend to annihilate them," Artan Hoxha told "Euronews Albania".
We recall that on Thursday evening (17.04.2025) at around 22:00 an assassination attempt was reported in Tirana in the Lundra area. 4 people were injured in this attack, including two minors. The injured are Arens Stafa, 34 years old, B. Demiraj, 17 years old, D. Demiraj, 11 years old, and Kian Mullaj, 19 years old.
Also on Thursday, Gjovalin Prendi, 64, the father of Roan Brahimi, was killed in Lezha. Police said the serious incident occurred in the village of Pllanë, inside a bar owned by the 64-year-old.
There have been hints circulating in the media that the two events may have been related, while one tip was that the assassins in Tirana were aiming to kill Roan Brahimi's wife.
