Police have arrested one of the suspected perpetrators of the physical attack on analyst Ilir Demalia, while the search for the other person involved in the incident continues.
According to the official announcement, citizen Roland Sula has been arrested, while his accomplice has been declared wanted. The blue uniforms indicate that the incident took place around 12:00 on "Çamëria" street in Tirana.
According to the Police, preliminary investigations indicate that the conflict is suspected to have occurred for weak motives and not for political reasons. Immediately after the complaint, the perpetrators were identified, while the vehicle used during the incident was also seized.
A day ago, Ilir Demalia confessed in an interview for "TCH" that he had been attacked by two people as soon as he left his apartment.
According to his testimony, the conflict began after a dispute with a local resident, who accused him of notifying the Police about vehicles parked illegally on the street.
"I was raped because I did a civic duty, which every citizen of this country must do, to denounce any case of violation that they observe or encounter," Demalia declared.
Police are continuing their investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and to arrest the second person suspected of being involved in the attack.
