The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has declared incompetence regarding the assassination attempt in Rinas where Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani lost their lives.
It is reported that the Prosecution has transferred the case to SPAK, following suspicions that the incident was committed within the framework of a structured criminal group. After the Tirana Prosecution carried out verifications, it concluded that the competent body to investigate the criminal incident is the Special Structure.
How did the assassination happen?
Gilmando Dani was executed in an assassination attempt in the middle of Rinas on November 11, 2025, and his friend Muçi Shaljani was also injured. The latter died a few days later in the hospital.
Three people with guns in their hands got out of a car and opened fire on the white Mercedes Benz driven by Shaljani, who had joined the AMP as an agent in September, in a procedure in violation of the law. The scene lasted less than 4 minutes, according to the published footage, while at least 80 bullets were fired at the vehicle where Dani and Sheqeri were.
The perpetrators left the scene only after they were convinced that the target, Gilmando Dani, had been killed. They then burned the car in the village of Halil, along with the weapons that terrorized the airport in broad daylight.
40-year-old Muçi Shaljani Sheqeri had been an employee of the Police Supervision Agency since September, while his presence in a car with one of the most well-known characters in the underworld raises strong suspicions.
Shaljani had joined the AMP with a provisional employment contract for 3 months in September, a period in which the institution was led by Artiol Saliasi, seconded, which ended in mid-December.
The incident, which occurred in the middle of the day, could have had other consequences for innocent people, as the area was overcrowded and some of the bullets even hit the glass facade of the Ark Hotel, which is located near the roundabout where the attack took place.
