In the second part of the podcast "Të Pashoq" on the "Pamflet" YouTube channel, journalist Ferdinadn Dervishi spoke about SPAK's approach to electoral crimes and the proposal of the head of "Acromax", Aldor Nini, for the creation of a mechanism for monitoring social media.
For Dervish, this initiative was a good omen. According to him, social media is a powerful tool for disinformation and manipulation, which can influence elections.
Excerpt from the interview:
-There are strong claims that PESAK will deal seriously with electoral crimes, has set up a task force, will cooperate with the General Prosecutor's Office, CEC, etc. Also, the head of "Acromax", Aldor Nini, has gone to SPAK to propose a work plan for electoral crimes, since according to him, a good battle for vote distortion is also being fought on social networks.
Ferdinand Dervishi : I liked Aldor Nini's proposal. I didn't know him, but he seemed like a conscientious citizen who has noticed what could happen or has happened and says that I want to give my help.
-Are social networks really an electoral "crime scene"?
Ferdinand Dervishi : Of course they are. Let me give you an example. I remember when the history of the KLA in Kosovo was. The Americans initially declared it a terrorist organization. In Serbia and Greece, they all made programs against the KLA. They said that the KLA was a terrorist organization that was supplied with crack drugs, etc. At a moment when the attitude changed and the Rejcak farce happened, I saw what the media does to you.
I saw world media that was very involved with this. The media in America was very involved with it, to the point that politics in America changed their minds about Kosovo. This is the power of the media. There are many cases. This one about Kosovo is in the right direction, but there are also many cases when it is used to orient in the wrong direction.
