Against the former Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj, SPAK is conducting an in-depth financial investigation, while another criminal proceeding has been launched with accusations of corruption and abuse of office.
SPAK suspects that Ilir Beqaj tried to hide the wealth. Sources mention transactions up to 2.8 million euros.
From Thursday (December 28, 2023), at the request of special prosecutors Elida Kaçkini and Dorina Bejko, who are also investigating the Check Up concession, detailed checks are being carried out at Delta Pharma, the Avicena company and the pharmacies 'Diţe e Night', also owned by 'Delta Holding'.
Delta Holding is owned by Eduard Curra and Dorian Sadiku, with 50% of the shares each.
Requests have been made to some state and financial institutions, among which it is about providing data about movable or immovable assets, second level banks, etc.
In order to provide valuable evidence for the investigation, BKH landed on Thursday at Beqaj's apartment as well as at several pharmaceutical companies, among which the Ministry of Health headed by Beqaj at that time, is suspected of contract abuse.
It is suspected that Ilir Beqaj has connections with the pharmaceutical company 'Delta Pharma' and several other pharmacies.
Ilir Beqaj's wife, Adriana Beqaj, has also been investigated by SPAK. Ms. It turns out that Beqaj had 15% of the shares of 'Albanian Food and Hospitality', a company created in 2019, while on March 3, 2020, she left this business as a shareholder. Currently, 'Albanian Food and Hospitality' is owned by Eduard Curraj, who turns out to be the owner of 50% of the shares of Delta Holding.
There are also doubts that Beqaj, during his time as a minister, has signed client contracts with 'Delta Pharma' and with the 'Day and Night' pharmacies. It is about millions of euros in medicines bought for the account of the Ministry of Health.
