The website of the Albanian Institute of Statistics fell prey to an attack by Iranian hackers yesterday.
Through a press release, INSTAT informs that its IT systems have been the subject of a sophisticated cyber attack the other day.
Security expert Fatjon Softa said that among the group of Iranian hackers "Homeland Justice" that is thought to have attacked INSTAT's website, there may be Albanians as collaborators.
"The possibility that there was an internal accomplice is not excluded. In cases where it is attacked, there is always an insider, if you look at the banks, how many times has a bank been attacked, there was an insider. Even in the specific case when the criminal groups had access to the territory, they had collaborators within the state police", said the expert in Euronews Albania.
