Sensational developments in the incinerator affair. The Swiss company Icare Holding officially denies having shares in the Tirana incinerator concession. Through a document provided exclusively by Kapitali.al , Icare states that it was contacted that two years ago it was contacted by the company Geogenix to find the money to finance the project, which failed just as the agreement to be a shareholder failed.
"In May 2022, Icare Holding SA was mandated by GeoGenix BV for the purpose of building an incinerator in Tirana with the condition that Icare Holding SA provides the financing of the work. The financing of the plant was not successful and therefore Icare Holding SA exited the project in November 2023," said the official statement of Icare Group.
Mess of owners
The Tirana incinerator concession is owned by the company Integrated Energy BV SPV, which is registered in Albania in the form of a limited liability company. The owner of Integrated Energy with 100 percent of the shares is a company called Geogenix BV, which is registered in the Netherlands.
According to official documents filed with the National Business Center, Geogenix BV is owned by three shareholders. 40 percent of its shares are owned by the Italian company Bruno Presezzi SPA, another 40 percent by Icare Holding SA and 20 percent is unknown. Consequently, in official documents, this is the ownership structure of the Tirana incinerator concession.
But Icare Holding says that it does not own any shares in the company Geogenix in Holland, clarifying the position of Blerim Hoxha. "BIerim Hoxha is neither an employee nor a shareholder in Icare Holding SA. Blerim Hoxha did not play any role in this abandoned project. Note that Icare Holding SA has a company in Albania, called Icare Energji Sha. This company has absolutely nothing to do with the incinerator project," said the official statement of Icare Holding.
Notice of lawsuit
The name of Icare Holding as one of the shareholders of the Tirana incinerator appeared for the first time in April last year, when the change of the final beneficiaries of the company Integrated Energy BV SPV was announced at the National Business Center. According to the documents, it appeared that Icare Holding had entered as a shareholder with 40 percent.
The owner of Icare Holding is a Swiss businessman named Max Abitbol, who is mainly active in the field of energy. In October 2022, Icare Holding is found to have founded the company Icare Energji sha in Albania, whose administrator is Blerim Hoxha. Although the name of the company Icare and that of Mr. Hoxha were widely mentioned in the Albanian media during that time, the Swiss company had never reacted to these news until today.
But the name of Blerim Hoxha reappeared in public, when it was also mentioned by Arben Ahmetaj during his interview with Çim Peka. This apparently caused the reaction of the Swiss company, which now warns of legal actions.
"We discover with great surprise false information about Icare Group and Mr. Blerim Hoxha in some Albanian news. We reserve all our rights in civil and criminal courts against false information that harms the reputation of lcare Group and Mr. Buy Hoxha. We specifically reserve our rights to Mr. Arben Ahmetaj, an Albanian citizen residing in Switzerland, before the Swiss courts," concludes the statement signed by the president of Icare Group, Max Abitbol.
The Tirana incinerator concession is proven every day more and more as a big corrupt and fraud mess. The official statement of Icare Holding that it is not a shareholder in the Geogenix company means that the ownership structure of the Tirana incinerator, which is officially presented to the National Business Center, is false. The incinerator has lost its owners again. Although the opposition, but not only the opposition, have a clear answer.
