The father of the PSD candidate in Fier, Limonera Bozha, was detained by police yesterday evening after being accused of buying votes.
Candidate Limonera Bozha told "Vizion Plus" that the accusations against her father are not true. She emphasizes that the electoral campaign was honest and within the law.
Bozha said that this is a political war and pressure on her and her family to give up running in Fier.
"The accusation of active corruption is not true. We have not bought votes for anyone and we do not buy votes for ourselves either. I am a PSD candidate. I deny the accusations against my father, we have conducted a very calm, honest campaign, within the law and we have nothing to hide. It is a form of pressure against me and my family, which has been repeated several times since the announcement of the lists on March 12. I hope that justice will be independent and do its job. I am not allowed to communicate with my father. I have been at the police station all night and no one is giving me information about the situation.
Now I am convinced that this is a political war. I have represented myself, my family and Albania in international competitions. I have worked to do the best for the people. I have represented my citizens for 3 terms in the municipal council. My desire has always been to do more for my people. But when I see potentials being hit, they don't want hardworking and honest people. I cannot forgive such a thing," she said.
