The Special Court has rejected the request of Albert alias Ilir Kupa, one of the members of the "grandfathers" gang, to leave the "41 biss" system.
Kupa was put under this regime last December by order of the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja after a "Smart Watch" watch and a mobile phone were found in his cell. His claims were that he had introduced the watch with the commission of the prisons directorate in the environment where he is serving his sentence and used it to measure steps.
But the authorities claim otherwise, who have doubts that the person sentenced to 25 years in prison was in contact with the outside world.
Ilir Kupa was sentenced by Serious Crimes to 25 years in prison for 6 criminal offences, related to a series of armed robberies in Greece, escaping from prison and injuring 2 policemen.
