Police in Albania and Kosovo busted a massive arms trafficking network. During the operations organized on both sides of the border, 14 people involved in this criminal activity were arrested, 8 in Kosovo and 6 in Tirana, while more than 50 pistols and several weapons of various types were seized.
Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço said on the "Real Story" show that the weapons they usually bring from Turkey are modifiable, the serial number can be removed and they can be turned into phantom weapons.
These weapons, according to the expert, are usually used by contract killers. Karamuço added that elite weapons used by Turkish special police forces were also seized.
" One of the sporting rifles is similar to the one allegedly purchased online in the murder of businessman Reçi. We have many pistols similar to those of the State Police, but they are not Glocks, they are Zoraki, replicas, Glock imitations, products of a company in Turkey that are used a lot by organized crime in Turkey and the Middle East. They are modifiable. You can very easily tamper with weapons, remove the serial numbers, you no longer identify them and they become ghost weapons. They are mainly for contract killers.
They are international traffic lines consolidated over the years. Most of the assassinations in Albania, we get weapons through this line. Either they come from the Serbian industry, Montenegro or from the Turkish line. The Turkish line is more dangerous. We even had pistols that we captured a year and a half ago that belonged to the Turkish special forces, elite pistols. They are very limited numbers of their production and are made only for those forces. Understand where we have penetrated. They are weapons that are sometimes called single-use , "said Karamuço.
