"Accidents have increased", Spahiu: Parliament failed to ease the penalties for offenders

Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu said that the situation of highways in Albania looks like a state of war and this is explained by the presence of the police, which is greater than in any country.

As a legal problem, he underlines that the Albanian opposition proposed some changes two months ago with the justification that it wanted to win votes and thus halved the sanctions for violating the rules of the road code.

"For those who don't know, for every violation, the penalties of the traffic code are halved. But the question arises: after the change in the traffic code on the easing of punishments for offenders, do we have an improvement or a deterioration in road traffic?" , said Spahiu for "Euronews Albania".
