The revolt that began in defense of Zvernec has turned into a citywide movement against the government and the entire political class. Protesters are marching in the streets of Tirana, while a national protest with massive participation is expected tomorrow.
The Flamingo Revolution has entered its 27th day today, confirming that the protest has long since transcended the boundaries of opposing the Zvernec project. What began as a revolt to protect a natural asset has now transformed into a broad civic movement against the government and the entire political caste.
After the speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the protesters continued their march through the streets of the capital. The column passed through the Brryl area and is currently descending again towards the Boulevard, continuing the protest route.
Throughout the march, there were no shortage of chants that have now become symbols of civic revolt: "Rama go away", "Rama resign", "New Albania", "Rama in prison" and "Berisha in prison". With these chants, citizens continue to express their dissatisfaction not only with the government, but also with the entire political class, which they accuse of having produced the crisis the country is experiencing.
The march is taking place without incident, while the participants emphasize that the protest will not stop until their demands are met. Every evening, hundreds of citizens are joining the revolt, turning it into one of the longest citizen mobilizations in recent years.
Meanwhile, organizers have announced that a national protest will take place tomorrow, with massive participation expected from citizens from all regions of the country. According to them, the protest aims to send another message that the revolt is no longer just of Tirana, but of citizens throughout Albania.
As the 27th day draws to a close, protesters continue to march with the conviction that citizen pressure must continue until the government is removed and the political system is changed, declaring that it is time to "shake up" the political caste that has dominated the country for decades. /Pamphlet
