Lawyer Romeo Kara considers it a shame for Greece, the fact that Fredi Beleri will run for MEP in the European Parliament. Kara said that Beler is likely to be punished, seeing how the judicial process against him is going.
According to him, Greece has also used this issue for its own internal problems.
"The process will continue. I think it is unlikely that he will get away without a sentence. I don't know how his candidacy will go, being convicted here. They have used the Beleri case for their electoral problems within Greece. This will be the last use. It will be a body for Greece to be represented in the EP. Europe is far from the mentality of these types of candidacies. This candidacy has been left at the door and they are playing it for the last time", he emphasized to ABC News.
