With the arrival of hydraulic equipment from Turkey, after midnight, the coastal city's Water Supply Directorate completed the installation of the main pipe.
The filling of the water tanks has begun at 04:00 in the morning.
However, the supply is not being carried out at full capacity, as the newly installed equipment is undergoing a testing phase to guarantee the safe and stable operation of the system.
The Director of the Vlora Waterworks, Ermal Murati, has announced that the breakdown is nearing its end and the city is expected to return to normal within the afternoon hours.
According to him, the damaged equipment is now in order, the situation is being monitored and part of the city is currently being supplied with water, while the storage tanks are being filled.
"The installed equipment is now in order. The situation has been monitored and we are OK. Part of the city is being supplied, while the warehouses are receiving water, while in the afternoon the entire city returns to normal. It was a very serious damage, but we can now say that we are at the end of the breakdown, fortunately. There was maximum commitment from everyone, AKUK, the municipality and the Albanian government. I apologize to the citizens for the problem. Of course, there will be an assessment of this entire situation later," he said.
