RENEA divers, in cooperation with the Dibra police and other emergency forces, continue the search in the Mat River to find 30-year-old Jurgen Karaj.
It is believed to have been taken from the flow of a stream in the village of Dars and ended up in the Mat River on January 10, 2026.
Armed forces and volunteers have been engaged in the search operation, which is checking the riverbed from both sides. So far, they have not yielded any results, while the search is still ongoing. Divers from the Special Operations Regiment and 22 members of the Armed Forces have also been involved in the operation.
In a statement from the Ministry of Defense yesterday, it is said that searches are continuing with the help of drones and specialized equipment.
The Mat River's flow has dropped significantly, but finding the body is difficult due to textile clothing or other debris stuck in the vegetation along the river. It is also suspected that the 30-year-old may have been covered in gravel, which makes it even more difficult to find him, because the water is still murky.
