The next preliminary hearing is being held today at the GJKKO against former President Ilir Meta, who has been in detention for more than a year, as well as Monika Kryemadhi, his ex-wife, against whom a "compulsory appearance" measure is in force.
The chief appeared at the GJKKO shortly before the start of the preliminary hearing, where it will be assessed whether or not the file will be forwarded for review to the Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption.
On the other hand, the lawyer for the leader of the Freedom Party, Kujtim Cakrani, briefly addressed journalists, saying: "See you after the session."
In previous hearings, the GJKKO previously ordered SPAK to make some of the documents available to the former president.
SPAK closed the investigations on July 28 against the former President and his ex-wife, Kryemadhi, and sent the file for trial at the end of August. The SPAK file includes investigations related to the CEZ-DIA case, LSI lobbying in the US, and the property investigation.
Meta and Kryemadhi are accused of passive corruption, money laundering and failure to declare assets.
Also in the SPAK file, charges have been filed against Pirro Xhixho, who is accused of passive corruption of high-ranking officials committed in collaboration, while Fatime Kryemadhi is accused of money laundering, together with Ema Çoku.
