The Rector of the University of Korça Fan.S. Noli Dhimitër Bello has resigned, while the Senate has returned the decision on the merger with the University of Tirana.
The reason for this action is still unknown, but his resignation came after yesterday's statement that he made about the university of Korça, which will merge with that of Tirana.
Meanwhile, the second meeting of the senate was also held to discuss the issue of the university, where it is learned that it voted to overturn the decision on the union with Tirana. There were debates and its members said that they did not know exactly what they voted for on Friday. Today, that decision was overturned, and the University of Korça will continue to be an independent university.
A day ago, Bello stated that the University of Korça in recent years is facing a decrease in the number of students, thus bringing closure of branches. According to Bello, the merger would not jeopardize the personnel or the closure of the study programs.
