The appeal of the GJKKO has rejected the request of the former president of Albania, Ilir Meta, who requested the abolition of the security measure 'prison arrest' and its replacement with a lighter security measure.
The country's former president has been held in custody since October of last year, as he is suspected by the Special Prosecution Office of the criminal offenses of "passive corruption", "money laundering" and "hiding assets".
SPAK closed the investigations on July 28, while the file was sent for trial at the end of August, which included three investigations into a CEZ-DIA affair, LSI lobbying in the US, and the property investigation.
