They requested the removal of house arrest, the Supreme Court deposes Berisha and Malltez

The Supreme Court has dismissed the request of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi for the removal of the "house arrest" measure.

Berisha's defense raised claims in its request that the conditions and criteria for Berisha to be investigated with security measures do not exist.

We remind you that Berisha has been under house arrest since December 30 of last year after the decision made by judge Irena Gjoka.

The former prime minister and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, are accused of having committed violations in the privatization procedures of the former "Partizani" club complex, in cooperation with each other, at the time when Berisha was prime minister.

It is worth noting that Berisha has exhausted his appeals in the Albanian Courts and a few days ago, his attorneys announced that Berisha had addressed the Strasbourg Court regarding the issue of the arrest warrant.
