The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has left in force the "house arrest" measure for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

Both are under house arrest while they are under investigation for the Partizan affair. At the end of the session, Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, accused that this case is being dragged on by order of Edi Rama.

"The extension of the term of this case will go with the political calendar, as the prime minister has divided, it is related to Berisha's mandate. It is those deadlines that determine these deadlines", said Gjokutaj.

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Jamarbër Malltezi are under house arrest, related to the affair of the former Partizani complex. Berisha is accused of passive corruption, while Malltezi is accused of active corruption.

Berisha, who has been under house arrest since December 30, 2023, has also requested to be present at the plenary sessions of the Assembly. Request which was dismissed by the justice institutions. The former prime minister and his son-in-law have repeatedly asked for a change in the security measure.
