The 40-year-old's untimely passing has shocked family, friends, colleagues and the media community, as Vlora bids farewell today to a journalist who for years linked his life to reporting on the city's events and stories.
From a young age, Mehmeti faced great challenges. In 1997, when he was only 11 years old, during the unrest that swept the country, he joined the “Alba” missionary camp as a translator, helping to communicate and support people in need. He then devoted himself to journalism.
To his colleagues and friends, Enrik Mehmeti will be remembered for the professionalism, correctness and passion with which he practiced journalism, as well as for the special love he had for Vlora.
Tributes in honor of the journalist will take place at the "Petro Marko" Theater in Vlora, while the final farewell ceremony to his final home will be held today at 2:00 PM.
