Journalist Artan Hoxha has revealed new details about the extradition from Kosovo of Gëzim Çela, a character of the world of crime.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Hoxha said that Gëzim Çela is a person with very strong connections not only in the area where he operated, but also strong connections with important politicians and law enforcement authorities.
Hoxha said that Çela is among the oldest persons in the world of crime and has managed to move freely in Albania, for a long time even though he was wanted.
" He had no convictions but he has been friends with the most important politicians of the country, even meeting them personally. You cannot become an important person at these levels of this world without having political connections and without corrupting law enforcement people ", Hoxha said.
Regarding the criminal activity of Çela, Hoxha said that he also had heroin processing laboratories, while only in the last incident with the burning ship at sea, it was about a quantity of 2.5 tons of heroin.
" Today, Gëzim Çela was extradited from Kosovo. He was arrested in the village of Dardani near Ferizaj, in the company of two women from Albania and a citizen of Kosovo. He has been wanted for a long time. What created a myth for him and halo, is the fact that even though he was wanted, he stayed in Albania, did business, had strong connections with law enforcement agencies and politics.
In fact, his career is very long, one of those who can be called the founder of organized crime. It has a history since the 90s. He was a member of the special forces, he also worked in the criminal police, he was also a companion of the headliners. At the beginning of the 2000s, the stories with the Albanian police began. In Italy, in the 90s, he was also accused of killing two carabinieri, after a collision. He was arrested in Albania on behalf of the Italian side. It was being used by two Ukrainian citizens. The exchange of narcotics was taking place, since there were two boats, it was a wide international operation.
