The May 11 elections have been over for almost a month, but their final certification has not been made, as the approval of the CEC tables in all 12 districts has been contested by the DP-ADSHM with complaints and the processes are under review at the KAS and the Electoral College, including complaints from candidates within the DP.
Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu sees this situation of verification of votes within the party, following complaints from DP candidates, where 1,280 ballot boxes in the Tirana district are expected to be verified by KAS, as a paradox and absurd, as the political and moral cost will fall precisely on Sali Berisha and his party.
Invited to "Frontline" on Report TV this evening, he also stated that if vote theft within the DP against candidates were confirmed, then the European Parties should also make the decision to expel the Democratic Party.
" Legally, opening the boxes does not imply miracles. It leads to two results, either confirmation of the result, or an electoral crime. So that they are classified by the Criminal and Electoral Codes. There are two legal-political problems. But it is surprising how in Tirana, in over 1200 polling centers, where there are over 2 thousand commissioners, the Democratic Party and if the votes in these centers are distorted, it falls to arrest 2400 of its commissioners. Article 326 provides for the falsification of electoral materials and election results, which provides for a prison sentence of 3-7 years. So if the Special Prosecution confirms that there were manipulations in these polling centers, it should arrest everyone ," said the lawyer.
But he expressed surprise, even making irony with the opposition, that by having commissioners, not only did it fail to preserve the vote, but also distorted it by stealing the votes of its own deputies. And if in the end it turns out that the DP has stolen its candidates, then there should be a penalizing measure for Spahiu and politically against her, through the European Parties.
" Let's take the other one, if there are no irregularities and electoral violations, the question arises as to how it is possible that you had so many commissioners and did not notice the problems? Well, those parties that do not have commissioners, but you who had commissioners, how did you not notice or check them. The third is that if there were vote deviations within the party, for example. They were taken away from Ilir Alimehmet or Kuçana, then it follows that this was organized within the party. So it was in an organized form from within. And if this turns out, then I think that the European Parties should exclude the DP, since it turns out that it also stole its own deputies. I predict that the result will not change, but there will be criminal violations of preferential votes within the party and criminal offenses, but there will be no change in the result," said Spahiu in his analysis of the political situation after the May 11 elections.
