As part of the operation codenamed "Ura", the Italian Antimafia, in cooperation with SPAK, targeted a criminal group involved in international cocaine and heroin trafficking based in Durrës, while a total of 51 security measures were issued, of which 40 were executed.
It is suspected that the criminal group was headed by Xhevdet Troplini, known as "Poja", while in recent years he had left the leadership of the organization to his nephew, Elvis Doçi, also known as "Visi i Pojës", who was able to escape arrest.
Investigators announced that they have documented 30 episodes of drug trafficking in Italy and 10 other cases in Albania and other European countries, while the file is based on communications on "Sky Ecc", as well as the testimonies of those who have repented of justice.
In addition, 30 money transfer transactions from Italy to Albania worth around 5 million euros have been documented, while the seized assets and cash values were said to be worth around 7 million euros. SPAK said that 3 restaurants and a coffee bar in Durrës, six companies and a private television station in Vlora have been seized.
The companies "Marquez" of Ervin Zeqiri, "Felix Vinum" of Adi Çoba, "Majestic Konstruksion" of Juxhin Drazhi, "Portside" of Elvis Doçi, "Dubai Im" of Nexhmedin Danaj, "Vlora Cable" also of Nexhmedin Danaj, as well as a car trading company owned by Olgert Shqevi, have also been placed under seizure.
But, "Portside" is not the only business owned by Elvis Doçi, known as "Visi i Pojës" and considered one of the leaders of the criminal organization.
He is also the owner of the company " Eldemar Construction " , which he owns 100% and whose object of activity is:
"Study, design, implementation of earthworks and masonry, concrete, reinforced concrete, undertaking of undertakings for the performance of construction and road, marine, hydraulic, electrical works of any kind, agricultural and forestry settlement, public greening and related public furnishings and their restoration and maintenance for own account or third parties. Employment services in various fields, Carpenter, ironworker, bricklayer, plasterer, plumber, electrician, brigade of specialists and unskilled workers, etc. Sale and purchase of various industrial goods. Import-export thereof. Trade within and outside the country of all types of animal food, import and export of various items and materials related to this activity. Carrying out any other type of economic, commercial activity."
A year ago, Elvis Doç's company " Eldemar Construction " received permission to build a 10-story hotel with an attic and 3 service floors underground in the city of Durrës. The permission was granted by the National Territorial Council, led by Edi Rama, at a meeting on April 2, 2024.
This is a clear case of how organized crime money is laundered in construction with the "blessing" of the Government with permits for towers, hotels, and resorts.
Elvis Doçi is a well-known criminal figure and convicted of drug trafficking. A year ago, during a SPAK operation, 3 million euros in cash stuffed in a barrel were found in his apartment. / Bold News
