"Where are the Americans of SPAK?", Lubonja: Prosecutors are not independent, the arrested will be released

Analyst Fatos Lubonja says that the criminal system in Albania has deepened but that SPAK is not investigating enough crimes.

He questioned the independence of SPAK and where the American support for this institution lies. Even according to Lubonja, it has recently been understood that SPAK is controlled by the government and that those arrested will be released.

"The question is how independent is SPAK. We have many unknowns. We do not know well the reports that exist in SPAK, these Americans who say they are behind, we need to understand where they are behind? The issue is open and I can say where I lean more. When Rama joined Meta, he said that this is not a matter of people, but of the system. The truth is that they have strengthened the system. Now the directors get the money all for themselves and it is about millions. The system is deep and criminal. They use SPAK as a facade, that we are not like Berisha, we deliver the corrupt. Ahmetaj has been hit harder. We still do not have an answer from SPAK about the incinerators. I think that in Veliaj's speech it was said that the arrested should stay, informing them that they control SPAK and that a time will come when they will be released. In Veliaj's speech, it was as if the arrested were being called on not to talk too much", says Lubonja.

Further, Lubonja underlined that he does not believe that SPAK is independent, as it does not investigate many crimes.

"Gazment Bardhi filed a complaint against Edi Rama's brother. The majority immediately said that they will file a lawsuit against Bardhi. If you control justice, you weaken the opposition with false trials. I cannot be convinced that SPAK is independent, because it does not go into many crimes that are being committed. Organized crime launders money with construction and has not gone here. As a whole, it does not go to the system, which has a cycle of crime that is in a vicious circle. The conclusion is that we are all fed by a criminal economy, they hit opponents, they do not enter the system", stated Lubonja.
