The Director General of the State Police, Director Madhor Skender Hita, today held meetings at the local police directorates of Fier and Gjirokastër and at the Regional Directorate for Border and Migration Gjirokastër. During the meetings, the Director General requested maximum commitment from the officers to increase the parameters of public order and security, prevent illegalities and dynamically follow up on citizens' concerns.
He called for intensive investigative and operational work to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, illegal possession of weapons, the identification of illegal constructions and other environmental crimes, as well as the arrest of wanted citizens. The Director also focused on the issue of school security and requested maximum engagement of police structures, until the end of the school year, for monitoring the security perimeter and the territory near schools, by Criminal Police agents and General Patrols, in order to identify and crack down on cases of drug sales and prevent the use of vehicles by young people without a driver's license.
During the meetings, the Director General also focused on the tourist season and demanded from the Police services, performance, behavior, ethics, communication, maximum commitment and timely response to every case.
Another task that the General Director left was to follow up on citizens' concerns, no matter how small. He asked the Police services to follow up on concerns with priority, to pay attention to reports of domestic violence, conflicts and to handle cases with professionalism. The Director also emphasized road safety and demanded performance from the Traffic Police services, monitoring with modern logistical means and no stopping of vehicles, without cause, on the main national axes. Further, Director Hita emphasized that in urban centers, the Traffic Police should be maximally engaged in punishing incorrect parking that becomes a source of accident or hinders the free movement of vehicles and pedestrians, for tire punctures or noise generated by modified mufflers, for driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol or intoxicated, speeding beyond the permitted norms and for any violation that endangers the life and health of road users.
During the meeting in Gjirokastra, the Director General left a message for preventing and combating cross-border crimes, increasing cooperation with Greek counterparts, managing cases of movement flows, and increasing counters for citizens.
