The United States Embassy in Tirana has shared details from the meeting between Chargé d'Affaires Nancy VanHorn and the new Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, at the start of his mandate in this position.
The Embassy's post on social media states that the meeting aims to pave the way for even closer cooperation in areas of common interest between the US and Albania, particularly in criminal justice and the fight against organized crime.
"Effective coordination with the criminal justice system in Albania is key to dismantling organized crime and terrorist groups, one of the top priorities of the Trump Administration ," the Embassy statement said.
This meeting comes at an important moment for justice institutions in Albania, where international focus remains high on advancing justice reform, strengthening the rule of law, and punishing corruption and organized crime.
