Italy has recently activated the decree on the migratory flow, for the second time in a row within a year, but carried over by the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this decree in force, all foreign nationals who have been in Italy since the COVID period can apply for a residence permit, with the comfort that it will no longer be valid for 6 months or 1 year, but for 3 years.
The Albanian lawyer operating in Firenze, Orient Hoxha, in a Skype connection with the A2CNN "Diary" gave details about the progress of this process, saying that the requests for residence permits were extremely high.
He also stated that with the agreement that Tirana has concluded with Rome for the reception of asylum seekers in Lezha, Albanian immigrants who live in Italy and apply for a residence permit may be more favored to benefit from it.
"The first requests for the flow decree were made at the beginning of the month and there were many requests compared to how many countries. There were about 100,000 requests for cleaners alone, but only 10,000 will be accepted, only 10%. However, in February there will be a second wave of requests and those who did not enter can apply again. In general, people from those countries that have agreements with Italians are more privileged when they apply. In this case, Albania with this agreement with the Italians can feel more privileged than others", he said.
