The applications of graduates for the branch of medicine have fallen by 40%, compared to a year ago, after the government's decision that forces them to stay for 5 years to serve in Albania after completing the cycle of studies.
While sharing this information, doctor Ilir Alimehmeti, through a post on his social network "Facebook", said that this happens when decisions are not consulted with experts in the field.
He further warned that what would follow is a reduction in the level of medical students, and therefore fewer qualified white shirts in the future.
" 40% drop in applications to General Medicine according to official data from the Ministry of Education! I had warned them publicly that this would happen and we would have the damage directly in September.
This is what happens when you don't consult with people who know the field! They don't help you anymore! This is what happens when you impose on free people! They run away! Now expect the average level of students to enroll this year to drop compared to last year! I have also warned this publicly!
All this clearly shows that in a few years we will have a lower average level of doctors who will serve us! Since we have become an African country with African laws, I am closing with an Ethiopian proverb: Advise, but if they do not listen, let them learn from the problems they will create!
