Former Environment Minister Lefter Koka is released from prison.
Former Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka, arrested for the incinerator affair, has been released after four years in prison.
The decision was made after the GJKKO abolished the security measure of "prison arrest" in the case related to the Fier incinerator.
According to the decision, the security measure for this file no longer stands, while the case for the Fier incinerator has been returned for retrial to the Appeals Court by the High Court.
Regarding the sentence for the Elbasan incinerator, Koka has been granted conditional release by the Durrës Court. Meanwhile, regarding the Tirana incinerator case, he has served his sentence with time spent in detention.
The three criminal files where Koka was involved, the incinerators of Elbasan, Tirana and Fier, no longer present security measures in force.
