The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, at the meeting of the Municipal Council, where draft decisions of a social nature will be approved, said that the free economic zone of Tirana is a project that has begun.
The mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, focused on the problem that is created with the cars that have been in accidents, or blocked, that were parked on "Aleksandër Moisiu" street, near Marubi, by the traffic police, or about the abandoned cars that we find parked on various streets Tirana.
"We can move these cars exactly to the ground in Farka, thus cleaning all the streets and alleys of Tirana from abandoned cars. There are hundreds of such cases, perhaps they are vehicles that have no value, not even for the owner to take them to Kurumi in Elbasan", emphasized Veliaj.
Among other things, Veliaj said that there is an interest from German, Israeli and Japanese companies for the free economic zone in Tirana.
"We have already received the license from the Government, we have made the investment in the first phase, the preparation of all lots has started, we have started the promotion campaign. It is not about silos where we will work in fashion, but about new technologies, that is, things that are the jobs of the future with very good salaries", said Veliaj.
Veliaj also said that work is being done on the road infrastructure so that the work force is not limited by the lack of infrastructure.
"To carry out these works, we need to create a company that will follow all these processes related to the free economic zone", said Veliaj.
He said that in the free economic zone, referring to the cases in Skopje, Tetovo and Athens, he thinks that the geographical position in Tirana is more favorable, adding that we can have 5 to 7 thousand jobs.
