Italian journalist Massimiliano Scagliarini spoke about the agreement signed for immigrants between Prime Minister Rama and his counterpart Meloni.
He said that this agreement is very difficult to implement, as he added that in Italy it has been met with skepticism and numerous criticisms.
He said that there is still not much clarity on how the refugee camp in Albania will work, while he emphasized that in Italy this issue is being treated as an attempt by Prime Minister Meloni to draw attention to Italy's internal problems.
"The Italian media is a little skeptical, as the agreement is considered a way of the Meloni government to draw attention from internal problems, which are problems on the finance law and the balance for the government of 2024. There is a lot of skepticism, as the agreement has many points unknown even from a legal point of view, since according to many observers, it probably goes against the Italian constitution as far as the matter of emigration is concerned.
The opposition has spoken about the government's great difficulties, but also about the beginning of a so-called "Guantanamo" in Albania. Even the Italian opposition has demanded the departure of the Albanian parties from the European Socialist Party, as it would be against any philosophy that the socialist parties have on emigration. I think that this agreement is very difficult to implement. Meloni made a similar agreement with Tunisia, but there was no more talk about this agreement" , said the Italian journalist for "Euronews Albania".
