Although it was announced a day ago that an amnesty would be applied in prisons, which was said to benefit 380 prisoners, it turns out that there is no concrete list and even the draft law on amnesty 2025 has not yet been distributed to interested actors.
Top Channel inquired with institutions about obtaining copies of the draft law or bill, but unofficially learned that this draft is not yet ready.
Something like this has set the prisons in motion, which during the day had a meeting with the Minister of Justice Besfort Lamallari, where it was admitted by sources that there was also discussion about the working groups that should draft the criteria for who benefits from the amnesty.
A reliable source involved in these discussions provided details from the unofficial draft, which still mentions that men who have been sentenced by a final decision to imprisonment for up to three years or alternative sentences and fines will benefit, while the sentence must have become final by December 31, 2025, and those convicted who have three years left in prison by the date the draft law enters into force.
It is being discussed that the amnesty will include women sentenced to up to four years in prison. The reduction of the sentence to one year is being discussed to be applied to women imprisoned for up to one year and also one year for men.
Those convicted of murder, those sentenced to life in prison and those convicted by the anti-corruption court will be exempted from the amnesty. Meanwhile, it is being discussed to exclude from criminal prosecution also reports made during this year for which a maximum sentence of two years in prison is foreseen. / Top Channel
