As the citizens of Vlora have entered the fourth day without a supply of drinking water, the Vlora Water Supply Company has informed residents that the water they receive from the water tankers should not be used for drinking.
"The Vlora Region Water Supply and Sewerage Department informs citizens that the water they are receiving from the tankers should be used for emergency needs and not for oral use," the announcement states.
Meanwhile, other citizens of Vlora are queuing to fill their water bottles at Uji i Ftohtë.
A defect in the main transmission line has interrupted the supply. Specifically, the defect occurred in the main pipe that supplies the city's warehouses, with a diameter of 1000 millimeters, which has left Vlora without water.
Yesterday, citizens forced their way into the theater premises where Vlora Municipality employees were enjoying a gala evening, with empty water bottles and cans, as a symbol of protest for a vital problem they face almost every day.
Today, they protested in front of the City Hall, throwing eggs and toilet paper at the institution, demanding a supply of drinking water. They also blocked traffic on the city's main roads.
