For four days, the citizens of Vlora have been facing a lack of drinking water.
Gjergji Nika, a member of the PD Municipal Council in Vlora, said that the city is in a chaotic situation. He said that there is a risk of an epidemic breaking out in Vlora since the hospital is being supplied with water by the fire department.
"This is a concern we have had for two years. Currently, the municipality owns 43% of the water supply, while the Ministry of Infrastructure owns the rest. A pipe has been damaged there since the 25th. No matter how hard they try to hide it, it is an emergency. Today, an epidemic is at risk in Vlora because the hospital is being supplied by the fire department, just like other institutions," Gjergji Nika told "Report TV".
Among other things, he emphasized that even though 80 million euros have been invested in the water supply, citizens still have problems with water supply.
"In the last two or three years, 80 million euros have been invested and we still don't have water or have problems with water. The situation is chaotic, everyone has gathered at that hole they dug, all the MPs pass by, they have made it a tourist attraction, they take pictures and then everyone runs away to their homes ," he said, emphasizing that the institutions have been saying little for three days and the water comes at dinner.
