Analyst Neritan Sejamini has explained how the lands on the coast were stolen with Law 7501 and then with the legal changes of the Rama government.
Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit", Sejamini explained that with the changes made by Rama, he provided the citizens with ATMP which were then used to get the properties from the oligarchs, who today also have the status of strategic investors, using public funds for the infrastructure of their tourist resorts.
" The socialist government made this solution with the law 7501 so that the peasants had a plot of land to eat bread. The DP campaigned to cancel this law, because it was to return the property to the owners. With the coming to power of the DP, it was understood that this was impossible because they had taken the lands from them. Now, although the law gave them the land, it gave them to use and did not make them owners. Although they used the land, they could not sell it or alienate it.
The Rama government said, if you have used your land until today, you have the right to take it as the owner, so this ATMP act. So I have had a land in use for 30 years, there is no one who claims it and I say make me the owner.
This is the law and this is the way to abuse it. 7501 covered only agricultural lands. Now, 7,501 went and grabbed lands where there were non-agricultural lands, including on the coast. So they had it in the village and took the hill by the sea. Then, over time, the notion changed, whether it was agricultural land or not. Then the oligarch was born and said, how to get this land? Pretend this was given to someone with 7501 and then he sells it to me. So, I take the land in Palasa, make a cooperative of the village as if it was his, fix the papers and he sells it to me. From Palasa, as far as Llogarana and up to Konispol, almost all the lands that the strategic investor has acquired have been obtained in this way.
The most terrible thing is this, some of these, after they have stolen public land, at ridiculous prices, the problem is that some of these have applied for strategic investors, so they say make us a little road, sewerage, etc. So they steal from us twice. Some of these have not even made capacity for tourism, but have made villas that were bought by the rich, the corrupt, etc. This has been repeated in many places on the coast ," said Sejamini.
