Journalist Alba Kepi has commented on the visit of Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni to our country two days ago.
In a direct link to Euronews Albania, she emphasized that in Meloni's meeting with her Albanian counterpart Edi Rama, the construction of a nuclear power plant in our country was also discussed.
According to her, this move comes as Italy needs energy supply.
" It wasn't just an invitation that Rama made to Meloni, but it was also a work agenda which starts not only for what Italy needs, to guarantee a security of energy supply, during the coming months. Italy seeks to close the gap created due to the imposition of Russian sanctions. Italy seeks to close this gap with the creation of a nuclear power plant. It's not a surprising idea, but it seems like a need that Meloni has. Albania is a country close to Italy and the country where it can create a nuclear power plant without having that kind of political and media tension on the part of Italian citizens and with the fact that it can make a big investment in a country like Albania," she said .
