Analyst Ergys Mërtiri has stated that the unannounced protests by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, were called so that Berisha could actually remove responsibility for the loss of the last elections.
He listed several reasons why Berisha has called for protests against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, among them he specified that Berisha himself has not conducted an analysis of the election loss on May 11.
"Berisha is forced to protest for several reasons. He is forced to protest because he has a deep defeat on May 11 for which he has not yet done any analysis, has not given any explanation, has not reacted. And he has not protested yet. He attacked Lulzim Basha after he dismissed him when he started the podium with the idea that the elections were really stolen from Lulzim Basha, but Luzim Basha did nothing to defend the elections and did not protest after they were stolen from him. Months have already passed, almost 7 months have passed and he has not protested so far and he is in contradiction with himself. Meanwhile, the democrats think that he is the master of protests and he promised that he would overthrow Edi Rama with protests ," said Mërtiri on the "3D" show on RTSH1.
He pointed out that 7 months have passed since the May 11 elections and, according to Mërtir, Berisha has not made any protests to protect the free vote.
"The elections have passed and he still hasn't protested to defend the elections that were stolen from him. There is a problem here too because there is a contradiction here. He doesn't say he will protest to defend the free vote, but he says we will protest to overthrow Edi Rama because he was caught red-handed by Balluku, so it's not clear," Mërtiri emphasized.
The analyst added that internal problems in the Democratic Party and lack of accountability for the defeat in the general parliamentary elections are pushing Berisha to take the protest action.
"In fact, you are not holding the protests to overthrow Edi Rama, but there is a reason why protests are held in such conditions when you know that you cannot overthrow your opponent because there is an internal problem that you have to solve. The first internal problem is that you have not been held accountable for the elections. The problem remains there. At every exit, it seems as if the question of what you are doing to protect the free vote is weighing on you. While the whole society says that this person should be held responsible for the loss in the elections in the Democratic Party, no one says that this person should be held responsible for the loss, everyone says that this person should stay. There is a deep contradiction," explained Mërtiri.
