The Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja has announced that 11 licenses for 11 notaries across the country have been revoked.
The announcement also states that 17 notarial archives have been seized, 4 notaries have been suspended and 7 administrative measures have been imposed.
As a result of complaints from citizens, the ministry has carried out inspections during the period January-August 2024.
"During the period January-August 2024, the Ministry of Justice has strengthened and intensified controls in notary offices throughout the country, carrying out 42 inspections, a significant increase compared to last year. These controls have come as a response to concerns raised by citizens, as well as to guarantee the implementation of legal rules by notaries.
As a result of these in-depth inspections, administrative measures were taken against 22 notaries who were found to be in violation. Of them, 11 notaries have their licenses finally revoked, 4 others have been suspended, while administrative measures have been imposed on 7 notaries. Also, 17 notarial archives have been seized", announced Manja.
