Mitsotakis continues with threats: Tirana's European route passes through

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues the threats against his neighbors. As he used the last day of the electoral campaign for the elections for the European Parliament, the head of the Greek government did not forget to mention Skopje and Tirana.

During the speech in Athens' main square, Syntagma, Mitsotakis reminded Tirana and Skopje that the road to the European Union passes through Athens. As for Turkey, Mitsotakis requested the definition of the "continental shelf" and the definition of Exclusive Economic Zones.

"After Sunday, the Greek government should not be consumed in discussions about electoral percentages, but should be able to continue the policy of a strong Greece, sending the message to our northern neighbors, that the road of Skopje and Tirana to Brussels necessarily passes through Athens. And that only compliance with legality and international treaties can give the green light," said Mitsotakis.

The increase in his warning tones towards Albania and North Macedonia is seen as a response of Athens to the arrest of Fredi Beleri and the labeling of the name 'Macedonia' by the new ruling elite in Skopje.

Analysts believe that the New Democracy Party, which is represented by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will win Sunday's elections for the European Parliament. Kyriakos Mitsotakis has called on Greeks to vote in the European Parliament elections to protect the country's interests and strengthen the future.

Mitsotakis's ruling centre-right New Democracy party leads easily in the latest polls, followed by the main left-wing opposition party Syriza and the socialist PASOK party in third place. New Democracy also led in the last European Parliament elections in 2019.
