The Special Prosecutor's Office has issued an official announcement regarding several messages received on the phone of the head of the PD parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, through the encrypted Signal application in the name of Ervis Martinaj.
Although Gazment Bardhin is not specifically mentioned, but it is said that these messages have reached several politicians and public figures, SPAK clarifies that verifications are being carried out.
SPAK informs that from the verifications so far, the messages claimed to be derived from the transcripts of conversations carried out through SKY/ECC have been manipulated by fabricating false conversations about individuals and illegal actions.
SPAK also calls on all citizens and public actors to be careful when interacting with messages of this nature, as well as to avoid the distribution of unverified materials.
" In response to increased media interest, we inform the public that the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has been made aware of several messages that have reached politicians and public figures over the last few days through the encrypted communication application, Signal.
From the Special Prosecution's verifications so far, the messages purported to be derived from the transcripts of conversations carried out through SKY/ECC have been manipulated by fabricating false conversations about individuals and illegal actions.
The Special Prosecutor's Office is closely monitoring this situation and has started verifications to identify the sources of these messages in order to prosecute the perpetrators.
We call on all citizens and public actors to exercise caution when interacting with messages of this nature, as well as to avoid the distribution of unverified materials." - announces SPAK.
