While the book "Conspiracy" brings an Albania that may have Russian influence, for Blushi, our only umbrella, even against the bombs, remains Europe.
Ben Blushi, in the framework of "October of the book", has held a conversation about Albanians and Europe, bringing a detailed look at a centuries-old relationship.
The situation in Ukraine and the tensions in the Middle East, the influence of geopolitics and the future of the Albanian language in the face of a growing strengthening of the English language became the topic of conversation.
While the book "Conspiracy" brings an Albania that may have Russian influence, for Blushi, our only umbrella, even against the bombs, remains Europe.
“ Europe did us the most damage in 1913. Half out. If we had not been Turkified, would they have left us so small? I don't know. We were torn apart as part of a lost empire. And half was taken from us. If we had not been Turkified, we would not have been separated, we would have been a little more cultured. It would be like this that everyone expanded except us, that we stayed with the Turks and we remained with the Turks. The neighbors were divided before us and had an army, we were a tribe. That's why we were divided and territories were taken from us.
Europe wanted to help us. Is Europe to blame for 1997? Are there people who have done it to themselves? If it wasn't 97 we could be closer to the EU, it took us 10 years behind. They helped us when we helped ourselves "- said Blushi.
Is Europe salvation?
" It is the only salvation. Europe's boat rocks, the war in Ukraine could have been avoided if Europe was stronger. People like Miterrani could have avoided it. They had influence over the USA and Russia. Europe suffers more from the war, including the war in Syria and Afghanistan. Immigrants come to Europe. Europe had to find peace.
The understanding should have been. Europe has not suffered much harm from Russia, it freed Europe. Of course, with the communist flag, they ideologically conquered Europe. I think that every time we have been outside Europe we have fallen into communism or Ottoman darkness. Were we not lucky that we suffered communism and the Turkish occupation more violently than others? Because they had and found around that saved them. Did the Serbs not become Muslims like us? That in the Middle Ages Serbian peasants, in 1804, all Serbian peasants cultivated pigs and sold them. They did not become Muslims, their economy fell. That they didn't sell pigs. How the Bulgarians let the Russians out of the church. These fatalities. The only umbrella we belong to is Europe, even against the atomic bomb ," continues Blushi.
During the discussion that also touched on atheism, nations and religions, the inevitable topic of Israel, Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon and Iran was also brought to attention with all their complexity.
" It's difficult to decide, but unfortunately what happened 1 year ago, I'm afraid, killed the election of two states. They have been negotiating for 30 years since Arafat was a 2-state formula.
With this happening, I know if there is any more talk about a Palestinian state and the second is difficult, after that do the Palestinians have the ability to administer their state with police, army, taxes? After what was seen it seems difficult.
In all of them it is resolved that I read that even if there is a ceasefire, Gaza cannot be managed by Hamas, because the money goes to bombs. It should be left to another state for management" - concludes Blushi.
Ben Blush's "Conspiracy" reflects the consequences of an Afghan uprising in the Albania of the future, where Albanians who fled to emigration have been replaced by foreigners who came as refugees or immigrants. Jews, Russians and Albanians, descendants of historical figures meet again in new positions and in new conflicts.
