Bad weather and discharges from the 3 hydroelectric power plants in the Drini cascade have flooded the Oboti area in the Shkodra District.
According to official reports, a large presence of water has been identified in Obot, mainly in agricultural lands in Obot, while the water level reaches up to 50 cm, creating problems in the circulation of small vehicles on the axis that connects the village of Obot to the main road.
Also, due to bad weather, there are traffic problems on mountain road axes, while snowplows are on the ground.

The District Prefecture informs about the current situation in the territory of Shkodra and surrounding units, as a result of increased rainfall and flows in the Drini cascade during the last 24 hours.
The Albanian Electric Power Corporation (KESH) has announced that after close monitoring and assessment of flow management, controlled discharges have begun from the hydropower plants in the Drin River cascade: Fierzë, Koman and Vau i Dejës.
Since yesterday afternoon, an increase in the levels of the Drin and Buna rivers, as well as Lake Shkodra, has been observed.
In the Oboti area, the presence of water has been identified mainly in agricultural lands, expanding the flooded area, without any danger to homes at this time.
The road connecting the village to the main road is filled with water of about 40–50 cm, making it difficult for small vehicles to pass.
There are 2 high-altitude vehicles and 10 Armed Forces personnel on site, fully prepared for any emergency need.
Situation on mountain road axes:
The Bogë - Theth axis continues to be affected by intense snowfall; Qafa e Thorës remains blocked in the tunnel area due to avalanches. Snow removal vehicles are working to open the road.
On the Hani i Hotit - Vermosh axis, there is heavy snowfall above 1000 m altitude; traffic is only carried out with winter tires and with the assistance of snow removal vehicles.
No problems are reported from the municipalities of Malësi e Madhe, Vau i Dejës, Pukë and Fushë-Arrëz.
Civil protection structures and local institutions continue monitoring on the ground and remain on alert for any development of the situation, guaranteeing full coordination for the safety of citizens.
