The rains have returned today in most parts of the country, while snowfall is expected in the mountainous areas. Meanwhile, there was a strong wind in the coastal areas, and for this reason, the navigation of small vessels was prohibited in the city of Vlora first and then in Durrës.
" Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the bay of Vlora, during 14.12.2024 starting at 10:00 on 14.12.2024 in the direction SOUTH-SOUTH-EAST in the force of up to 6-7bft with wind speed up to 15-20m/s and wave height from 1.50 to 2.00 meters.
In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we ask for the cooperation of all entities that exercise activity in the maritime field, to take all the necessary measures to secure the tools in the port and increase the readiness of the crew in the tools floating.
1. It is prohibited to equip small boats and fishing vessels operating in the open sea with a launch permit starting from 10:00 on 14.12.2024.
2. All drivers of small boats and fishing vessels operating inside and outside the bay of Vlora should consider the hydrometeorological conditions and take measures for their safety.
3. International maritime transport ships will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.
4. The improvement of the worsened hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing will be after 22:00 on 14.12.2024 ", announced the Port Authority of Vlora. A similar announcement was made by that of Durrës.
